Center of the Universe ?

It was May of 1971 and The Obsession was in high gear.
Started out at the Targa Florio in Sicily.



A week after the Targa I drove my Fiat Spider straight through to Monte Carlo--25 hours--mostly 2 lane roads.
Eventually got to the rooftop designated on my ticket--Everybody has to buy a ticket !



The rooftop was level with part of the uphill portion of the track.
As luck will have it all of the drivers walked down the hill to huge applause
right past where I was positioned.

Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill



Jo Siffert and Pedro Rodriguez

Jackie Stewart is still around but Hill, Siffert and Rodriguez are no longer with us.

Stewart does F-1 comentery on speed dont he?   And for the 12 and 24 hr races I think.
