You know, it is a shame that we can't set up some sort of a chain of folks so that we could help each other out in moving frames, engines or bikes from one place to another. It wouldn't be as quick and I don't know if we have enough folks to make it even feasible or not. It's just a thought I had some time back, about how cool it would be, if we could accomplish something like that.

I remember talking to you about the same sort of idea with the RZ frame bill. Now what would be cool..is if the bike could take such a trip and perhaps each member that contributes a link in this chain could place some sort of momento on the chassis as it makes its way through...i guess in a way giving everyone a chance to help see the bike take a certian form..

Cool idea but if you expand that world wide, some of the harder to get bits for our old machines might be sourced.
I have real difficulty finding CB650 bits here in NZ but we had a shizen load of CB750's of all models around.
Just a thought and although it doesn't help with your frame transport Darkrider worth thinking about.
Gotta be a truckie or two on this SOHC board. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

try advertising on craigs list for a trucker that might be making the trip. let em know i can meet them within the midlands (central part) of south carolina. it can be broken down to pallet sized load (and will be if i'm to take the bike to where the trucker is). i'll advertise here on this end too. what part of saskatchewan are you in?

That is a good idea Hush...perhaps getting this situation sorted out will allow for something like that to occur...

Just an idle thought but is a roller too big for someone like DHL to handle?

I kinda doubt any truckers would be able to help...
@ nearly $1500 for a full tank of gas they only drive when they can get paid the big bucks.  At least this is what a friend of a friend who's a trucker told my friend when he asked about a similar situation.  I like the underground rail idea though, maybe each person who helps gets a ride on it when the build is finished?  It's a great excuse for a long road trip!

Thats a great idea man! In a way the machine becomes a community built "Darkrider special" (just running on the idea as the Hondaman specials)
