Yikes!

Just what the police need.  That's way too big of a hammer for them to have in their pocket.

Agreed this is BS and you get the cop on who says we've dropped the speed related deaths by 42 % now if they only would turn around and train the people pay attention and how to drive at high speeds they could reduce it even further.

WHOA!!!!! That makes my $189 speeding ticket in Little Rock, a while back, seem like "A Drop In The Bucket!". Sure need some kind of guidelines though.  :(

Yeah that sounds like a bunch of crap. Maybe make the cop liable for costs if the person is not convicted.  I mean there is a big difference between lane splitting and racing.

But OPP Sgt. Cam Woolley says taking vehicles off the road is the entire point of the law.

Woolley is a bully and I hope he gets his ass kicked. I bet if he sees some Angels lane splitting his butt puckers.

If he sees an average Joe doing it, he pops wood. So it would be Woolley woddy.

Tell me about it.

How am I suppose to dial in the bike when 80 mph is a 2 -10k fine  >:(

They should do away with speed limits all together and just put a giant spike in place of the airbag  :D

most of the cops in this province are #$%*s ;)
the fact that a disgruntled cop can charge you with anything he or she feels like is ludicrous.i cant believe that my tax dollars are going to pay salaries to someone to harass me at there whim.
if i am doing something illegal...then fine.but some bozo saying he doesn't care what a judge thinks as long as he thinks its OK is screwed up.
the Ontario government has been flirting with upping the speed limit on major hwy's to 110 km...but the provincial police keep stepping in and saying it is dangerous.everybody here drives 120 to 140 anyway....i think they just like the money that is being payed out in tickets.
lane splitting is illegal....but it certainly is not street racing or stunting. >:(

This is the problem Neil. The law is too vague. Braking late while entering a school zone while say doing 90 kph when entering a 40 kph zone can be considered street racing.

Did we also metion the OPP has a shiny new Cessna 206 which they patrol the roads with to catch speeders....paid for no doubt by fine money.

This is certainly good incentive to see if your bike is faster than the cop's.

All this crap of seizing and towing and impounding seems to me to be some ploy to extort money with the "law" on their side.  $1000 bucks on average per incident tells me the treasury is growing by leaps and bounds.  Must have the towing companied in some lawmaker's pockets.  >:(
