Not waving, drowning!
« on: August 27, 2005, 02:51:09 AM »
Okay Guys, sorry to intrude, but I'm pretty desperate for a set of seat hinges and a catch for my K1 "Not so Rat Bike", and was wondering if anyone can help? I checked EBay and no dice there, and put a post in the "Wanted" section here, but no replies either. Anyway, if someone has a set on an old seat base, or just has some spares, please let me know?

I'm happy to pay a fair price and shipping to Oz of course, the bike is getting nearer to it's maiden voyage (I've never ridden this bike before as I built it entirely outta parts I had lying around, with a few bits generously donated or sold to me by you guys) and the thought of holding the seat on with my butt alone, doesn't appeal, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The only seat pan and latch I have is from a 78 GS400,  might look a little funny on a Honda.

OK Sam, here goes:
a. How can you intude when the thread belongs to you ? I thought that considering that the open forum isn't necessarily the proper arena for soliciting for parts, this might be considered an "intrusion".
b. If you want hinges why go on ebay looking for dice ? Dammit, I knew I was barking up the wrong tree!
c. What sort of drugs are you on ? Alcohol mostly, my drug of choice.
d. Have you been watching the cricket ? Sadly, yes.

Thanks for your concern so far guys, and I'm still confident that this "intrusion" will eventually bear fruit. K0-6 hinges are all the same, and K0-K1 latches are the same as well, so if any of you kind souls can help keep me in the garage while my countrymen are slaughtered on the field of battle, (well, the cricket pitch actually) I'll be forever in your debt!

Linda, as much as the "duct tape" theory is well proven, I'm trying to lift my ol' K1 to new heights, it's just about shaken off the "Rat Bike" tag, and I think "K1 Kruiser" is more apt now! Cheers, Terry. ;D

If I had the goodies I'd gladly send 'em to you, but wouldn't the hinges be too easy to just make? Is it about staying strictly stock?

I may have a hinge or 2 but I won't know for sure till I get up to my parts storage location this weekend. I'll see what I haveand let you know.
