Cb550k older fuel vale with round bowl.....
« on: August 20, 2008, 12:13:39 PM »
I have a older gas tank on my CB550K, the kind with a Round fuel bowl. The fuel valve is leaky, are the o-rings just bad? Could I use common size o-rings to fix it? Or do I have to order a special o-ring set????

I ask this before, I drain my tank and pull the tank off!

Thanx guys!

Depends on where the leak is.  If it's leaking from the bowl or from where the petcock mounts to the tank, you can use standard o-rings.  If it's leaking from the selector lever, you'll need the internal packing rubber (rubber disk with four holes in it), which is often available on ebay.

All the "O" rings, and the complete valve id the same as 750 and still available from Honda
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
