I am back...hooray!
« on: July 15, 2008, 05:45:01 AM »
Hello all!  It's been a good number of weeks since I was on here last, but I had a lot of things going on, and hopefully can get back into my cycle swing.  So, here are my updates...

The Good and the Bad Stuff...
-Bike is still in pieces
-Tank still needs alot of welding (only tacked right now), stripping, cleaning, sealing and painting
-Seat foam needs to be shaped and reupholstered
-Frame needs new mounting/support points for the seat
-Need to experiment with the inner tach cable (already shortened/recrimped the outer portion), but the inner needs to be squared off and hardened
-New hoses for the front brake and hydro clutch need to be measured and ordered
-Engine needs to be pulled and regasketed (I would like to do new rings too, but haven't found a good source yet.)
-Need to find a suitable taillight
-Need to check wiring (hopefully it is all still good)

Today I'm going to call the salvage barn and see if they have some little bits I needs, and maybe even get around to taking some pictures for updates.

Other good news as well.  The girlfriend might be getting a bike ('04 SV650S) and while I'm jealous that she'll have an awesome bike that is RUNNING and ready to go, she's been wanting on for a long time and I know these bikes are awesome to ride (for learners and experienced riders)
