1981 CB650C project bike & daily driver
« on: August 15, 2008, 04:59:05 PM »
Well, I had plans for the winter but dumping the bike in the rain has forced me to replace some parts now - bars, mirrors, grips. I'll post a pic soon of the bike when i bought it as well as a pic of the bike as it sits in the garage waiting for parts. The hardest part i found was disconnecting the throttle cables (i took my carbs off too).  Here's a tip...disconect the foward most cable from the throttle sleeve (the one that makes it GO!) after that, the rest is easy.   stay tuned....

You lie! ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

carbs aren't hard.  Just gotta take your time and be methodical.  I'm just replacing the float needles on mine but due to a couple stripped screw heads i had to take the carbs off to flip them and take an impact driver to them. need to give the bowls a good cleaning. also gotta take out my petcock and clean it. hopefuly that will solve the problem of not getting fuel when i switch to "reserve".

Me too, got sick of trying to force my ham fist into a space the size of a tin can full of sharp unidentified objects.
Now I can spin them bad boys off when ever I want to check the floats and jets. ;)
