CR29 notes (choke and other things)
« on: January 30, 2008, 06:54:12 AM »
Was everyone that has these carbs familiar with the starter jet?  I saw the little guy in there but wasn't aware that you can switch these out for different sizes.  Judging by the choke behavior and what I've seen on this forum the choke is way too rich.

I've becoming a theoretic expert on these carbs and when I get more sure of myself and have my bike running well I think we should put together a really nice FAQ since so many people are buying these.  I think they're pretty easy to set up once you know how they work and have access to air, pilot, and main jet assortments.

I underestimated the extent of what I'd have to learn about these carbs and how they work and behave and spun my wheels for a while as a result.

ONE BIG THING I'd like to get out there.  Once the intake rubbers are stretched you can put these carbs on and off the bike all day long.  I'm not sure if anyone has posted this here but I have no hesitation to pull these carbs to work on them and can get them reinstalled inside of 10 or so minutes.  Just undo the throttle cables at the bar, take off the tank, and pull the carbs out.

Good info on CR carbs. I just bought a set from Cyclex. Did you ever create that FAQ? I'd love to get it if you have.

Thanks
