RARE and SWEET little SOHC on E bay

My (OLDER)brother had one of these when it came out. I think they only made them 1 or 2 yrs. It came with the factory 2 into 1 pipe and it had a 6 speed tranny, too.

He had it a month, it was beautiful and quick, then I promptly wrecked it for him. As you might guess the rest of the memory is PAINFUL. Because it was nicer than this one when I was being stupid with it!!  Atleast we can laugh about it now!!

As I remember, the CJ360's were decontented CB360's designed to hit a lower price point, with 5-speeds, plastic front fenders, and drum front brakes.  The CB360's got the six-speed and front disc.

The CJ did have better styling though.  The CB360's never got the look quite right with their kicked up pipes.

This one does appear to be in very nice shape.  I suspect the reserve on it is up at $1500+.

I had one of those a couple years back.  It was junk.  Bought it for $150, took the wheels for my 350, and sold it again for $150 8)

In Britain we got a 250 version, you could pick them up as runners for £30.00 to £50.00 when the 125cc learner law came into effect. I still wouldn't pay more than £150.00 ($300.00) for one as I know they all need work to make them reliable. Very good engine after modification though ( which is why I have 4 CB360's I'm modifying)

Maybe you wouldn't pay more the $300 but the market has spoken and says it's worth $1325.  At least here in the states, $300 generally buys you a an old Honda twin that barely runs if at all and looks like crap.  You can put $1K into it and still not have anything nearly as nice as this.

Until you ride it and fall off.
Its way too low for any sort of real cornering (not that you would want to try on 31yr old tyres)

Agreed Mark, we got screwed on cool small displacement bikes here in the US...I lived in Holland for 4 years and wish i'd known...woulda brought something other than a Honda MB-5 back with me.

That's really interesting to hear, I never considered what the markets overseas might be like. I wonder if it has anything to do with America having the outlook of 'bigger is better' (ie, we were making muscle cars while everyone else was driving peugots and datsuns) meaning there were less sales of the smaller bikes here, the fact that motorcycles are more common as daily drivers than recreation in europe.
