Need European / Australian help (again)
« on: July 31, 2008, 04:09:31 PM »
Hey, I send parts to you guys fairly often...
Kawasaki EJ650  (aka W650) sold a lot more in Europe and I think Australia, too.  I need a coil but they don't sell them here anymore.   :-\  My eyes are bad- I hope that's a really PO'd face there.

So any way, might someone make discrete inquiries and let me know if anyone has one in stock over there?

OR- can ANYone recommend a Kwak site where i could find out if that coil is used in other models.  They wouldn't make a special coil for just one model, would they?

There's a Kwak specialist near to me paul, PM me what you want and I'll see what I can do.

They must have a web site, I'll check that now, you may be able to email them yourself. I'll sort the payment out and make sure it reaches you.

I just sent an e-mail to them.
I forget what the time difference is, but I think
they (and you) should be heading to Starbucks pretty soon for a cuppa?

Is it the 650 they made in the 60s that looked like a BSA motor ?

It's 4.30am Paul, remember I'm a night worker.

I found the W650 on their site Paul but they don't have a coil for one on their list.
Like you said though, might be one from another model that's the same.
Their shop is only about 5 miles from where I live.
I'm on holiday for 2 weeks in a couple of hours and might not be able to get internet access but I'll do my best for you.

They list here for $64 USD.  67 pounds is like -what- $130 USD?!!! PLUS SHIPPING???!!!

An ace mechanical type said today, " Ernieernernyearniebananadannabobernie- ERnie- if one jug is firing and you only have ONE COIL- and you think the coil is BAD- what is firing the cylinder that is RUNNING?! and he wapped the side of my head.

Soooo- took the carbs off.  Part of the gas line was held together by a 3rd century miracle and fell apart in my hand, the in-line filter was black, and a (dammit- I'm getting Alzheimers)  well- those brass things with little holes in them- one of the holes was clogged shut.  I'll think of what they're called later.  Long story short- the bike runs great now.
