You'll have to trust me guys..but IT IS Japanese writing (in it's 3-forms as mentioned before) that is written on the box, et al.

if you can make out the Japanese, you are quite the interpreter! 
I can understand the apparent frustration in not being able to figure it out (as with myself @ times)..but I ran it past my Japanese/English translator wife..and she confirmed it.
Well, I tried Japanese to English first in Babelfish, that gave me unintelligible text. Selecting Chinese-Simp actually generated something readable. Don't know why that is.

Mystic..I don't know why your Babelfish is supposedly telling you that it may be Chinese..must have something to do with the Kanji (read: Chinese derived) script/figures used.
But anyway..as I was trying to say originally..don't you think the Japanese love for detail and "fastidiousness" has something neat to offer? [Afterall..we're all into the engineering and asthetic sensibilities of the Japanese with our love of these old SOHC 4 bikes..right?]
