When I crack the throttle on the CBR while pulling away and am not putting ALL my weight on the back tire it will smoke pretty good with no brake whatsoever. I was riding the other day with a buddy who just got his license and a Volusia 800 and he thought his bike was fast (first one for him) and he thought that since he had an 800 my 600 was puny and couldn't keep up. Well I pulled away at the light and (purposely) spun the back wheel right through the intersection and still blew him away. The next light I did a controlled launch and I could barely see him in my mirrors after just a few seconds.

lol...actually Terry my wheelie skills have improved this year over last. Still not the greatest but I got the weight distribution figured out to the point where I can do a decent power wheelie. Enough for my purposes as I have no interest in stunting or anything.

Mine will try and fly out from under me if I don't rest the front tire against something... I can grease the rear for a good 40ft before it fully hooks up!

...not that I would ever do such a pointless foolish thing.

I wouldn't worry about that Terry....I have a ton of issues all of which are worth teasing a guy about! I am over weight and balding if that helps any...

Well I've still got all my hair Dennis, (albeit as Grey as a battle ship) but my BMI is currently 37, so I'll stay away from that one, ha ha!

My kwaka Mach111 in the early 70s
hard to do a burnout as it was so light in the front you had to practically sit on the bars to stop the front wheel lifting when you fed it revs

I wouldn't recommend it but you can do some pretty cool donuts while using that leftover rubber if you're careful... I'll try to post a pre-paint/pre new tire video soonish

Too funny. We were at a show yesterday where there was a group of guys on sport bikes set up in one corner. we rolled in on three of our Denver's, parked and the whole group gathered round acting like they had never seen a ride like ours before. Most of them did know what they were saying :those are CB750s, their wicked fast man:

When we were leaving they were trying to get us to do burnouts. we just smiled and waved knowing our cool factor was high enough making noise out our drag pipes.

as I'm reading it... I take it as he's making fun of his crotch rocket brethren for not knowing what is inside his 750 that should make it "all that". I just don't see the point in making fun of others to hype up one's own ride.

I don't think it was intended that way, but then I could be wrong. Regardless, kayjohn hasn't been on the forums since last June, so there's a good chance we'll never know for sure.

I have had the pleasure of meeting kayjohn face-to-face, and I can assure you he does not have an attitude. He joined the forum after hearing about the relay, and contributed in a big way in getting Godzilla across the Mojave desert, and into scondon's waiting hands. BTW, his bike is a piece of art.
