Hello from New York
« on: August 09, 2008, 08:37:01 AM »
Hey gang...I'm Josh...so after 10 years of city living and not owning any vehicles(although i still live in the city) I've recently bought 2 vehicles I've always wanted, an old Jeep Cherokee sitting on 35's and a 1972 CB750. It's my first bike and it's turning out to be lots of fun and a little work. I've started by conquering carb cleaning and am hoping to find lots of mechanical and tech info here to help me keep the bike  up and running.
Thanks in advance.
J.

Welcome Josh. You've joined the best forum there is. Loads of folks here just dying to impart their knowledge, experience and expertise. You'll find things out in here that no published manual ever even thought of.

Don't forget to post pics of your bike, Jeep, workshop, tools, etc etc.

Enjoy.

Wow, Josh!  When I used to live on the upper east side, parking for a car was more expensive than my studio apartment's rent!

I finally got so tired of my bikes getting knocked over on the street that I had to buy a house in the NJ 'burbs!

Welcome

Welcome from Westchester County. If you are interested there will be a police escorted run from Carmel NY to Ground Zero on Sept 11. The first year we had 10,000 bikes from Westchester/Putnam and thousands more from Jersey and PA. We brought lower Manhattan to a standstill.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Yea i pay to park my bike in garage...its $$$ but it's worth it for piece of mind. But i hope to be out of the city in the next couple years...looking forward to that.

The Ground Zero ride sounds cool but i'll be out in California in September...thanks though!
