They are different, due to the exhaust pipe on the F being a 4-1 instead of 4-4. You could make it fit if thats all thats available, but better to go the right one if you can.

Mark,

I have a 4-1 pipe on the bike. So, it should be ok?

with an aftermarket pipe you will need to work out how your going to stop the stand from rubbing on the chain. Both types of OE pipe have a rubber stop that lines up with the centerstand when it's raised. There may be something already there or it's quite easy to fabricate something, a rightangle fixed to the footpeg mounting point should do the trick. Just something to be aware of, that's all.

Marks right. Any center stand you use will need a stop. On the K models the stop was mounted to the exhaust( or so I hear). On the later F models the stop was mounted to the exhaust bracket(77-78). You can fabricate a stop, if you don't have one on your bike, by mounting a short strip of metal to the center stand mounting bolt. The center stand should hit the metal strip before raising high enough to hit your chain or exhaust
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
