where to buy 33mm clip on bars? Anyone?
« on: August 15, 2008, 11:59:33 AM »
I LOVE the Disco Volante clip on bars...Do i REALLY want to spend $130.00 on bars?

Has anyone had luck with any other manufacturer of clip ons that are actually available in the States? I really would like something machined rather than welded steel...Maybe something with a little rise.

Thanks!

Kev

I have had both Tarozzi 33mm rise clip-ons and now I have ttr400.com 33mm clip-ons on my CL350. They are both nice... but they both sell for $129. The Tarozzi's are adjustable, but they hit the new tank I put on my bike. The TTR400 are sweet. Look nice and have no down-angle which is really nice on the street. I also have a set of 33mm clip-ons from Champ... they are going to go on my CB350F. They have about 10deg of downsweep and are all chrome steel.

I got the Tarozzi's from fastfromthepast.com here are a pic of the Tarozzi's

I got the TTR400's from 400fourstore.com here is a pic of them

Here is a pic of Champs.

Here is the link to champ on ebay... if you email him directly you can get them for $75 or $85 shipped... I don't remember how much exactly.

Email him at strempfer@comcast.net

Another option is the woodcraft bars:

They have just about any size you need.

Thats a huge help. Can you tell me where the Tarozzis hit the tank? Was it the bar itself or the mount when it was fully cranked to one side? just curious...Got a quick pic you can shoot me of how either set looks on the bike?

Thanks a bunch!

The clamp is what hit the '69 tank... there were no problems on the CL tank... you can see pretty well in these pics how I had them mounted. When I test fit the '69 tank I just thought I would have to rotate them forward... but by the time I got them to clear they were sticking straight out to the sides like drag bars... it was the back of the clamp/pinchbolt that would hit. It's pretty clear on the pic from behind.

Hope this helps.
