I would like to make a list for others searching and troubleshooting and maybe i can run into a new idea as well.. add to mine or tell me i'm wrong (since i'm a bit of a newbie some is speculation) and i'll edit it for the final list for SOHC 4's:

Cylinder lean / hot:

Blocked passages/jets in carb restricting fuel flow.  Diagnosis/FIX: rebuild/ clean carb

Faulty spark plug/ too little resistance.  Diagnosis/Fix: replace plug

Low vacuum from leaky intake boot.  Diagnosis: spray WD-40 around boot and listen for engine change.  Fix: determine if boot is faulty/cracked or band is not tight enough

Leaky exhaust flange/ oring.  Diagnosis: hold hand near/ around flange and feel for exhaust leaks.  Fix: re-seat header, replaces oring and flange and/or exhaust header

Leaky Intake manifold O-ring.  Diagnosis/Fix: replace orings

This one i'm not sure about until someone posts about it, as I just read someone post about it earlier today--
Carb bowl vent tubes unequal length/ flapping in wind  Diagnosis/Fix: replace tubes, reroute tubes to proper locations (please fill in proper locations preferably with picture)

Ok so thats all i have so far, please do help reword my pseudo-wiki and post what you would like added or changed.  Hopefully this will help someone in the future and maybe even me.  :D
