CB350F wheel size and width
« on: August 28, 2008, 02:13:06 PM »
I really need new tires and wheels, but I can not find the width of my wheels anywhere.  I am going the buchanan route since I do not have time to fool with it.  I looked on the wheels and on the site with no luck.  Please help if you can or suggest a width and size that will clear the fenders once the tires are installed.

Yup they ship right to your door.

Prices are in Euros....and we have been getting hammered on the exchange rate recently.

David Silvers is the same....weak dollar.

i asked in another thread, but was wondering if anyone has tried to put a 1.85 x 18 on the front and a 2.15 x 18 on the rear?  I found a East coast company that has better pricing than Buchanan.  They just do not have a 1.60 x 18 36 spoke wheel.  I asked if I could send them rims and spokes, but they have not responded yet.  I think I may just go wider though.  I know the front tire as of now is close to the fender so I might need to stick with the factory front tire size.  But I could go a little wider on the rear.

Tends to degrade the handling but its possible to do it.

Can you not find someone locally that can lace a set of wheels?

not yet.  I am going to see this weekend if a local motorcycle shop can by looking at my wheels.  They do not like to work on bikes older than 10 years.  They sell new bikes, but they said they may be able to do it.

Might be able to work a deal....I'm getting ready to build some more wheels for a 750 anyways.

I just purchased new rims, spokes, and bearings from david silvers spares.  I have a local shop that can respoke the wheels and powder coat my hubs.  I let them know I have a disc front brake since I think they made it with a drum front as well.  I am going to buy new tires after all is complete.  I will take pics of the parts for before and after.

yes it will be cheaper even with someone local still spoking them.  I cant wait to get this done, as I have been easy on the bike because the tires are not that good.  just been driving to work.  plus my rear spokes are rusted, so this will dress up the bike.  I plan on completing some touch ups on the frame while the wheels are off.

Oh hell yes its cheaper then Buchanons....

I was curious if David silvers was cheaper than CMS after the GB pounds/euro/dollar exchange.

Haven't priced wheels at David Silvers lately.

You'll enjoy the bike a whole lot more when you have confidence in it and its tires.  :)

I've put a 1.85 on the front with a 2.15 on the rear with Avon RoadRiders.  Front is a 90/90-18 and Rear 110/90-18. I've no issues at all.

Talk to Terry at TAS Motorsports.  He bought the wheels and laced for me on the cheap.  I couldn't be happier.
