Hondamatic Trike Oh Boy!!!!!
« on: August 31, 2008, 09:40:23 AM »
This is Harley week in Milwaukee, so there are a million V-Twins in town.  Every now and then I will see the unmistakable silhouette of a SOHC out of the corner of my eye.  This one was worth turning around to look at!

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure theres a few others besides me that besides seeing the cool trike are wondering:

"Where the h*ll did that carb and intake come from!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ???"

I know for one I LIKE that setup!!!

Don't know about anyone else, but every time i stop at the local "pick -n- pull" i bring a paper template of the carb spacing for my 650 hoping to scrounge up either a single carb and intake that will work, or a turbo setup that is close enough to work.

He made it himself.  I told him about Cycle X and that they make a 4 into 2, but his was the first 4 into 1 I have ever seen.  He used a carb from an old Sportser.

What it came off of?
Jetting and whatnot?

Yeah I did, i figured thats what it had to be since it was a 750 automatic motor.

Awesome work he did VIDEO(with sound?? ;D) would be awesome!!

If you miss him, it's still quite a thought grabber that carb setup there!!!

I wonder what his rear wheel HP is on that thing....
I wonder what else he did to that motor... bored out? cam?

What i wouldn't give to be his neighbor!!

I love it. Get him to join the forum, I can see a BOTM winner here.

I guess he saw my avatar, and put two and two together ;)

He said he doesn't know much about "these Jap bikes" as he usually works on Harleys.  He said he pulled the head off and replaced the gasket and o-rings.  He couldn't believe how good it looked inside and said that he doubted he even needed to do it.

He plans to put another seat behind his for a passenger.  It will look like the 1930's Harley set ups.

As for joining the forum, this guy doesn't strike me as the computer geek type.  You never know though, so I'll ask him if I get over there.

Zounds, that's one cool build!  Love the little-red-wagon trailer :)

I wonder if he has problems with fuel droplets falling out of the airflow with all the sharp bends in that manifold.  It's my understanding that setups like that will tend to run leaner on the cylinders furthest from the carb, ie the outer two on his setup.
