Does the "WORKS" toilet bowl cleaner that eats rust inside the tank hurt the paint if some is spilled or sloshes out?

i used this non-caustic stuff from home depot called "zep".

diluted with warm water, let it sit for several hours and rinse and dry.

i'd say it got rid of 95% of the nasty stuff, and left a small expected amount of surface rust.

i gave the inside a quick shot of WD40 afterwards, then filled with gas as normal.
