1978 CB550K- Electrical
« on: September 07, 2008, 10:08:45 AM »
It's a rainy day so I started going through the electrical system, cleaning all the connections.I had replaced the original signal flasher and it only had 2 connections to it so bought a 2 connector flasher.Well, much to my surprise, after removing the under seat air box, I found a 3rd connector that appears to be for the flasher.I checked the manual and it appears to confirm three wires to the flasher relay, can anyone confirm the 1978 CB550K has a three way flasher unit?

Hmmmm, well the extra wire looks just like the 2 that are on the flasher,I'll get a flashlight out and see what color it is cause its dark and dirty in there behind the electrical panel.
Thanks

It came stock with a 2 terminal flasher in the US.  Other countries have different lighting requirements, and some need a three terminal flasher.  The harness in adaptable.

The wiring diagrams in the shop manual show this.
