Which master cylinder
« on: September 18, 2005, 03:14:56 AM »
Hi,

would i be right to assume that a front brake master cylinder from a 1977 K7 would work better than an older model in the case where a PAIR of disc brakes is fitted to the front wheel? I was told that the older type master cylinders don't work as well when they have to pull double the load. If so do you guys know how i can tell the 2  master cylinders apart, they must have different numbers stamped on them somewhere right?

Thanks
Chris

Be crap exactly the same as the K7 has only one disc. What you need is an early goldwing one!

How are you getting the shaded quote area? I no longer see that particular icon on reply options any longer, just smilies??

You have to use the quote button in the upper right hand corner of the message you are quoting.  I've noticed that a lot of the options are missing on the message reply page.

If you have thefirst wing cylinder it looks the same and has the front stoplight switch on the cylinder so you can screw the second caliper line into the place where the font hydraulic switch is and keep stoplights.

If anybody sees a great deal on a 78 goldwing m/c, pass on it... honda discontinued the rebuild kit some time ago....
