howdy...finally found my way here....
thats right, new member ( to this board), figured i'd say hi....
my ride, from the class of '72, thats right,a 750 SOHC...
i've had THAT bike for about 15 years now, i'll probably own it forever, and that doesn't bother me one bit
i see through the forum, parts for sale, and thats good... after 15 years, i figured i'd better overhaul while i can still get parts...
i've had other bikes, but, none have the history this one has, nor the sentimental value...
as stated above, i'm doin an overhaul... completely...
i already started with the paint, somethin to do while trackin down parts..
i'll say this... there is nuthin quite like the trip down memory lane when doin somethin like this, remembering every ding an dent, and how they got there...sh*t happens, sometimes its even fun...
i gave up on stock a long time ago, about 3 years after i got it... puttin an after market breaker plate on was a good thing...then came the 3 inch lowerin kit i found in a pile of scrap...
now, i'm ok with most things, but, i noticed while tearin it down, i'll be lookin for exhaust before it goes back on the road, and this is something i'm less than 100% on...
i been readin through the forum here, and realized, this is where i need to be...
... finally, people who like the old honda's...
i've taken alot of crap because of it...an i tell em all the same thing...
"when your harley breaks down, give me a call, i'll give ya a ride on the old Honda..."
that bike has never let me down, never left me stranded on a highway, and always got me home... no matter the distance, weather, or traffic conditions...
its a safe bet, i've seen the better half of north america on that bike, and never a breakdown...
i just don't care what anybody says... thats the best $300 i ever spent...
now, i'm off to go do some readin...
