been lurking a while
« on: October 21, 2008, 10:20:21 PM »
actually i've been lurking about for nearly a year now, i'm not a very social type person. i ride a nearly flawless 1980 cb650c (rode 16k miles this year, this bike and counting) gonna be doing some work to her when the snow starts flying here befor much longer witch is why i'm here.
1980 cb650c first bike i owned now the wife's ride.           1982 xv920j virago, bike i learned to ride on rescued it from a 13 year coma (sitting in the shed) now she runs beautifully and rides like a dream.

Well, pardon me for being so crass but you better get used to these social misfit types.
Never know when one will stop by and drink all your beer. Where did you say you live anyway?

Hmmmm, there's that word again; lurking! Seems you come across it all the time in this forum, lurking.
At first I thought it was Norwegian/Danish for "F*ck me, that's expensive!".
Now I'm not so sure. I'll hazard a guess it may mean "Let's wait and see if those SOHC-4 weirdos are gonna reveal the magic of their passion today, then I'll join."

Welcome to the madness and enjoy

not a cave dweller, i just live out in the sticks. i'm about 20 miles west of brigham city, utah. anyone is welcome to come help work on my bike, but you gotta bring your own beer(preferably something better than the watered down stuff they sell here in mormon country)

What? Do they sell that Heineken crap in Utah as well? Jeez, I think I'll circumvent Utah when I come to the States.
Ghost, I've seen just 2 postings from you and reading between the lines I get the feeling you're sending out a clear message; desperation! You live out in the sticks, you've not got  much contact with friendly faces, and worst of all you can't get decent beer where you live! :P :P
My advice to you, mate, is; get out of there! It's a big marvelous world, and there's still space for one more in a number of beautiful places. Just go see it. Don't waste your life in some dead end hick town.

i'm even outside the hick town out here. but the nice thing is i'm only about an hour away from the fastest place on earth(bonneville salt flats) not to mention all the great canyons to ride just to the east of here. one day i'd like to get on my bike and just ride for a couple years, south in the winter and north in the summer.  untill then i'll just keep building hot rods in my shop
