Nice run Heffay.  Glad you passed those tank huggers, they were driving me crazy.

I have wondered how my XVZ12DN would do on the track.  It does real well on the three sisters in west Texas.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

thanks guys...

being in the street rider / school group, we were allowed to pass on the outside of corners only.  when i passed those 2 riders then the one, i think i was legal on the 3rd guy cuz he swung real wide and i didn't actually pass till the corner after, almost the straight.

the fast guy at the end was in the wrong group (at least i hadn't seen him in the other heats), he wasn't riding a dual sport but a dirt bike, like i argued in the vid (i'm particular as to what they came from the factory as  ;) ) but he wasn't on a white bike, it was blue.   ;D  his leathers were white though.   :D

crazy fun!  i'll always remember my first time.   ;D

I was just amazed the two people actually have a get up like that!

I kid... anyway, it's pretty cool and I think it's safe to say that the red slash across the front is likely a take on the Honda wing given this guy is riding a Honda, no?

BTW: my lawyer advised me to have documented, and state for public record, that I am not in fact stalking Heff.

Likely 'Honda Dirt Tracker' or something like that to contribute to the post. But don't hold me to that as I was pretty jeeked on Pierce Bros. coffee at the time.

Good for you. I'm very jealous. I wish that more people with racing inclinations would 'take it to the track'.

Heff,

Now you have me wanting to build my bike into a CR track racer.  However, I would need to ride a course more like Daytona with my Hot Rod engine otherwise I would never get out of third gear on those straight sections.  Time to save up for the new project maybe.

Oh no, looks like Sparty and Heff have the Desease!

To paraphrase an old saying; how do you make a small fortune in racing?

I have been to track days when I had my GSXR and ran this course and the Wilson circuit. http://www.beaverun.com/facility_north_road_course.htm

The North Course was fast!, the Wilson circuit was just plain out fun, but too many guys were going down that day for me to feel safe.  I prefer FAST anyway.  I think the Hot Rod would do well on the North course, but not so well on the tight Wilson circuit.

4 went down before lunch (the first was on the first lap 3rd corner in the expert class) 2 after lunch.

you can see one guy go down and the aftermath in those pics i posted.

i thought that was quite a few.   :-\  nobody seriously injured though.

There are always guys crashing on those track days.  The experienced rides go down more often because they are really pushing it in the turns, the novices are usually safer.  However, I always fear that someone will take me out.  I think that a supermoto would be a blast and if you go down, they are a lot less expensive to repair.  Maybe that is the route I should take.

the guy that smoked me in the end of the video was riding a yz400f with street/race tires.

i'm still opting for the 400f  ;)
