The steering head bearings and the grease they ride on do NOT make a good electrical connection between fork components and the bike frame. The front signals need a connection between the the bulb socket bases and the green wire in the the headlights shell. Follow the metal. The stock headlight mounts are vibration isolated with rubber between them and the forks/trees. Certainly the 550's had a wire connections between the headlight/turn signal mounts and the green wires in the headlight shell. I couldn't explain why, of if, the 750's were any different with ground wires in the headlight shell. The 750 F models I own, do have those green wire connections to the mounts.
