slip ons for a 550F
« on: September 22, 2005, 07:31:09 PM »
Anyone know of a slip on that will fit a 550F header.  I measured the OD of the stock header today and its 2 1/16".  I've been searching online and all universals that I've found have only gone up to 1 3/4".

Thanks

My wife's 550F has a universal megaphone on it done by the PO; I left it on but made a less restrictive baffle for it, changed the bike's nature entirely.Sounds like my CBR which has a V&H system. I'm not sure what brand the thing is.
If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.

Would you happen to know the brand or part number on the pipe you have?  Thanks

My 550F has a stainless megaphone fitted made by a company called JAMA. It's available here in France including a fitting kit from the following company site www.ddmototeam.com, cost complete is 136 euros, not sure about delivery though. Looks good on the bike.

any pics of the exhaust on your 550F.  I'm on that site but don't read French.  I've found the exhaust your talking about though.

Dennis Kirk sells a universal racing muffler made by Supertrapp with repackable baffle core and diffuser discs. The 2" muffler is part # 43-948

It may have been bad lighting or my crazy eyes in reading the tape measure last night but I'm pretty sure that it was 2 1/16 OD diameter.  Theres not much difference with 2" but do you think a 2" exhaust would fit.  I found it pretty amazing that the majority of universals only go up to 1 3/4" that are reasonable priced.

Don't know if the photo is attached! Using new software. If you can't get sorted, then I could ring the French company to see if they know of any distributors in your country.
