Here's my Emereld Green 78 750K. It was painted by the previous owner and I layed the stripes after I bought it.

I had to buy another tank, this one is weeping from the hanger that mounts to the frame near the seat so I'm in the process of painting it Acura Redondo Ruby Red (Metallic) and Acura Grand Prix White(Metallic)

Not a SOHC Honda.  '97 Suzuki Bandit 1200 with some mods.

This wasn't the original color that I painted the bike (mine was more of a candy apple green) but I recently sold it to a friend who wanted it "Univ of Oregon" green.  I think that the original color looked better.

I tried the Rustoleum Professional Hunter Green, but it is too bright of a green.  I want a darker green.

I'm planning on using the Spraymax clear over it, so it shouldn't matter what Rustoleum I use, right?  Or am I missing something.

I remember hearing green was bad luck as a kid; only then the guys were referring to cars. I guess that's why England did so poorly during the 60's in GP racing... no, wait!

althouhg pro grade is recommended you can use either Rustoleum paints as the real work in making it shine is the sanding and polishing. Both paints are largely fuel resistant and there is little difference between them. Rustoleum has a "dark hunter green" which I used for a fence not long ago - it is a little better than standard hunter green but really you want charleston green.

It all depends on how you are applying, if you are using the pints and a roller then you can tint the paint to your liking, get some painters measuring cups and go to town. If you are using spray cans you are kinda locked into the color in the can.

hard to tell with photos but if I had to guess I would say Dark Hunter Green, Charleston Green looks darker. We are talking cheap spray cans here, you could buy a can of each and spray them on a test piece and see which you like more.

I've already tried the Dark Hunter and I'm having a hard time finding the Charleston to compare to it.  I think either will look nice, but with all the work involved, I want to have the color that is in my mind's eye.

On the note of bad luck colors, I was told by a former racer that it was specifically British Racing Green that should be avoided due to the fact that in the 60's, one of the Brit teams, Norton, I believe had a rash of fatal accidents on the UK circuit the year that their team adopted this color for all of their team bikes. Since then the color has been used individually but never as a team color.

That is my decade old watered down version of the story......but you know how it goes. As stories are retold so are the facts.

Here are pics of my green bike.  It is actually a toyota 4 runner color from the 90's. Metallic Jade or something. When I had the shop paint it they told me to look for a color on cars that i wanted to match and they then got the manufacturers paint.  Worked out well..

That's a nice shade of green too.  I like the decal as well and would love any ideas for something to slap on the side to add some contrast to the green.

I really really like this bike. Tastefully done; if I added badges to mine it would be the old wing as you have done. I think the gold in the logo works with the green too. If I recall you have a white stripe, no?

Anyone know where I can purchase the old wing logos?  I'd like something I can spray Spraymax clear over.  I believe that is a urethane product, correct?
