I recently put new friction plates in my 550K1 but it seemed they were too thin.  The manual states 2.7mm for each as standard with 2.4mmm bein the minimum, but the old plates I pulled that were glazed over and baked hard were over 2.7 and the clutch slipped under heavy load.  With the new plates I lost all my cable adjustment and had to cut the cable and re-attach a barrel end to make the new clutch work.  These were stock honda clutch plates though I did try EBC with the same results.  I was just wondering if anyone has had any trouble with changing the clutch in their 500/550 since the clutch changed so many times on this model maybe that is part of the problem.

oh the new clutch grabs like crazy just was wierd I had to shorten my cable.  oh and With new clutch pack I have the clutch adjustment on the case maxxed out as well just to bring clutch lever on engine case to a decent position.

I am ordering a new motion pro clutch cable to see how well it will fit versus my shortened one. I appreciate any thoughts.
