Drum brake front... bolt on?

I'm looking for a good option for a 40 spoke drum brake front hub for a stock 750K front end, something that's gonna be a (fairly) easy swap... anyone?

First off, you're going to catch a lot of crap for reducing the performance of the already underpowered braking of the 750.

We've seen people try to put the drum brake from the cb450 on. Dunno how easy it is.

Nothing will be a simple bolt on. If you really want a drum brake up front, try something from a BMW /5, a moto-guzzi, or other LARGE, powerful drum brake. Most CB750's are close to 500lbs wet. You'll need a good brake.

The 2ls front drum from the Suzuki GT750 would be a good match for the cb750....dunno how "bolt-on" able it is though...

The GT 750 was 4 leading shoe as it was double sided

The GT750 drum was also available on the GT550s and while the vintage racers grab up the gt750s one all day at $300-400, the gt550s ones slip by for less sometimes.

GT750s use 35mm forks which are the same as cb750, it could be just a matter of adjusting the distance so they fit the trees.

Stopping power of the Suz setup is limited, at least for heavy machinery. Had my own setup once, with a big Grimeca drum, but even that comes no way near a disk setup.



But still think it looks okay.

A CB450 drum will go right in there. You'll have to use the axle from a CB750.  You will also need to have spacers made.  If you already have a CB750 front wheel,
you can take the spacer from it and cut/machine it down.   I haven't done final assembly on mine yet or I could get you the final measurement needed for the spacer .  PM me and
I'll get that to you when I bolt things up...hopefully this weekend.   You can find them pretty easily, I paid $40 for mine.
