I couldnt figure out how to post a pic in a million years...Im not, as I said, very familiar with Japanese bikes. Its a 73, the carbs are keihin, throttle slide, not CV. On the zerox factory shop manual, page 63, illus. #10, ("insert coil spring B and tighten it w/ the cap nut") the guys LH thumb is pressed against the part in question. Its a 500, according to the side panel, but also referred to as a 550. I cant tell you what edition of manual it is, I believe she ordere it off this site when she first got the ike.....
Im not entirely sure , given the way the force is applied, JB Weld is the tool for the job, but thats what Ill do if I cant find replacements......
