« on: February 15, 2009, 04:35:15 PM »
anyone have a line on somewhere to get some parts for a custom oil tank. I'm looking for an oil tank pour tube and cap. Also, i don't know what they are officialy called but im looking for what is essentialy internaly drilled and tapped rod for (not through and through, one end closed) welding into a tank and using it as a bolting point. That description make sense?

thanx

you can find filler necks on ebay and also in mags like jegs and summit. Good luck.

Bungs

Check with Fab Kevin and Crime Scene Choppers for misc builders parts. There are going to be hundreds of places online to buy stuff, but both of those places are good to deal with. Or make friends with a machinist. If you can't find anything off the shelf that will work shoot me a PM.

Stainless, mild steel, or aluminum?

For pipe thread  or other or push-in (can use the thermometer caps)

Need a measurement for your bungs, no sense in welding something on that dont look right..

You could consider listing your location under your name or at least what country you are in..

mild steel. my thoughts are for a "bung" big enough to accept an M8 bolt. they dont have to be to long... an inch would cover it.
and location updated.
