Odometer Reading - EXEMPT?!?!
« on: February 17, 2009, 05:47:32 PM »
I bought my CB550 and now that I have got it inspected and registered, I received the new title today and it says EXEMPT under odometer reading!
What the heck!  >:(
The previous title said the actual mileage. I checked the box on the title transfer form that says "Actual Mileage" and wrote in the mileage!

ugh.... those people at those offices where you get your vehicles registered and titled have an easy job as it is and they can't input information correctly?! damn, it pisses me off.   :(

Standard procedure in Indiana, they ask if you want exempt, or not actual.  I had a corvette with 9000 original miles, 10 years old, they exempted it.  Just one of those things to accept and get over.

It's standard procedure in every state I've lived in.  Once a vehichle reaches a certain age the mileage changes to exempt.

Kansas kept my mileage if I remember right.

If a bike is more than ten years old in Vermont, you don't even need a title, just a bill of sale.
