72 cb750k2 ignition switch connector question
« on: October 11, 2005, 01:32:36 PM »
Ok.  everytime I think I know someting about my bike I find I am still confused after all! *smile*

so... my understanding was that up until '76 the ignition swicth connector was a square four wire plug, and afterwards it went to a round 5 wire plug.

Mine has a round plug which I assumed some one jury rigged to work for this bike.  Well I just took it apart to re-solder some connections on the swicth and looking at the round plug I see that it only has 4 prongs present.  SO what is this?  I went ahead and ordered a '76 wireing harness that I can grab what I thought was the correct square 4 wire connector, but now I am just completely confused.  This round connector on my bike looks like it was made with 4 wires!

all the wiring diagrams I have of the '76 and earlier bikes have 4 wire ignition switches.  Are there round connectors in both 4 and 5 wire form?

I would appreciate any knowledge you can share with me on this.
