Cben/MCRider,   I've got a set of DOHC forks which are about 1" longer than SOHC. They have the same brake mounts as my 78 F's, and I have the fender that fits them. Thinking that I can slip the forks up in the trees and mount clip-ons up top without any mods or change in trail(?). Don't know if there's an easy fork swap for K bikes, in regards to brake/fender mounts on lowers, but mine seems to be an easy alternative for a sturdy top mount(clipons).

This project won't get off the ground until Summer, but gathering parts as I can and I've been thinking clip-ons would be great if I can manage it.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

lol  yeah M8 all healed, been around here on and off for thelast couple of years, had to give the heavy metal work up, body cant take it anymore....haha.

am studying atm, in my 4th year.... chiropractic...  year to go.

yeah stll riding, got a nt400 honda bros, sold my xjr1200, couldnt afford to run it on student wage.

thats a great idea about the extended fork tubes, the only reason i mentioned it, was because me F4i cbr was like that with the clip on above the tree.

this is looking like a good alternative to worrying about if everything is gonna fit.

Sean (Scondon), do your forks have the same ridges as the "F" forks the length of the lowers?  And if not, what year/model are your forks from? Thanks!  RR

Just thought of something..

The stock 750 single cam master cylinders, can be cut down on the snout.. probably 1/2 inch or even more.
may need to rethread or shoten the banjo bolt.

If you use the adapter to AN thread, you need far less thread in the MC, or you might be able to tap to NPT..

 just a thought..

I just installed a used front brake lever from a GSXR as suggested in this thread and it works great!  I actually have a hard brake lever now, something I couldn't get from my stock brakes even after a caliper and MC rebuild with new brake lines.  Thanks! I'm pretty stoked now! It doesn't look as pretty now but stopping is much improved.
