New Cylinder studs
« on: February 18, 2009, 10:21:27 AM »
Hi,
can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier for a  couple of cylinder head studs (long ones) in the UK please?

My standard studs seem ok but 2 are damaged, failing that I would happily buy a full set of heavy duty ones from the UK.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunatley not. They are not official Honda spares so David Silver, Fowlers and CMSNL do not stock them.

I'm a bit screwed then.

Managed to find the last 3 from a shop in Southampton.

Part number is 90033300030.

It looks as if David Silver can get them (although the guy on the phone couldn't get them) But it would take up to 3 weeks to order them.

I've got quite a few of those studs hanging around.

Hi! I'm new to the site!

I'm also looking for cylinder studs (both front and rear) for my '78 550, except here in the US. Seems that they are hard to come by or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. I've tried Western Hills (they just have the rear studs 90033323000), the local dealer (who tried to order them, but came back empty saying that they are discontinued), and various other "racing" sites. I'm not particular as to whether they are an original part or aftermarket HD stud, just would prefer them to be new.

To answer the "why" question that you might be thinking...whelp, I snapped one while torquing down unfortunately. Which leads me to ask...should I replace all of the studs, since they stretch from torquing? I just don't want the same thing to happen again after putting on the jugs and head.

Help!!

Thanks!!

I can help you with 550 studs, but all I have are used. I don't see any need to replace all your studs, just any that may be visibly damaged for any reason. Let me know what you need.

You can get our CB750 heavy duty studs in the UK from Debben Performance.
