Dumb question - Mirrors
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:36:04 PM »
Hey All,

Im trying to re-attach my stock mirrors that I took off for painting, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the on correctly. The one of the left handle is fine. On the right, when it screws in all the way, is bent inwards, instead of outwards. I replaced the stock MC with another stock MC

I'm pretty sure this is an easy fix, but I seriously cannot figure it out...

CB500, btw

Do you mean add a lock nut, or that the lock nut is already on the mirror?

Hey Mo this is MoMo again.   Back the lock nut off then thread the mirror in and tighten the lock nut. ...Larry

+1
Just to add when you thread the mirror in go all the way then back up until you get it in the position you want then hold on to the stem while you tighten the lock nut.

Word I'll post pics this weekend. My guess, is before I painted, the locknut was probably rusted. Then I painted, and didn't realize it should be there. I'll try to break it loose this weekend!

Or you could try a washer under it if you don't want to risk your paint....

Yeah, I figure I'll just use a razor blade to cut the paint at the joints as small as possible.

Hey MoMo. Ever heard that song Mo' Money Mo' Problems?

Ha yeah, well to each their own. That song is from '96 though, so maybe your 49 yr old self would have jammed out to it.  8)
