Cayenne Pepper Advice?
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:14:33 PM »
I bought in bulk and used WAY too much in 2 gallons of chili.
5 alarm.  Too much for an old white guy who doesn't drink beer.

Is there any way to neutralize this some?

Step 1:  Make more chili without any cayenne
Step 2:  Mix well with over-cayenned chili

Yea, don't rub it where it might hurt.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Yea, don't rub it where it might hurt.

I've done that (accidentally of course) after making some chili with habenero peppers.  I hit the head then started having a slight discomfort that quickly turned into me running to the shower just about in tears.  Worst place to get a chemical burn.  Absolutely the worst...

As for the chili it's basically dilute it with more.  I've never found a way to turn in down once it's in there.

I was afraid of this.  I'm going to end up with a lifetime supply of chili.
Maybe I'll give some away.

Pour it into zip lock bags and freeze it.  It'll keep forever and taste just as good when you reheat it.

We don't have quests here.  People come when they want, and we kick them out when they've been here too long.

Gordon, the sides of the pot are already thinner than when I started.  Why would I ever want to preserve this toxic waste?  If the Feds find out I have this stuff, I could get arrested.

Now you're gonna miss it.  The next batch you make will seem to be without taste unless you add even more  :D

Bag it in smaller bags. Freeze it.  Make new batch and use one frozen small bag for every big new batch.  Dilutes it like maybe 5:1
