Chain Adjustment

I have a 73 CB750 and was reading in the Chiltons manual about adjusting the chain. I went to adjust it and there is no center stand on the bike. Is there another way or is there a recomendation of what to use to prop the bike up?

Replacing the center stand would be the easiest way to go. You don't need to leave it on, just install it when you need to service the bike. I'd leave it on.
