I would buy one of Gordons kits if i was you {already have one} if fitted correctly there will be no difference to the frames integrity.

  A good welder should be able to fit and weld the missing pieces. Looks like an easy and quick (inexpensive) job to me?

Thanks for the input guys. Little razzing does everyone a little good. I will pull my head out of my ass next time I buy a bike. My friend welds so I think I can get this fixed pretty easily. Lets see if I can get some $$$ back. Doubtful

Trying to get your money back from a SOHC4 is usually a uphill battle...

That's the problem with these old bikes.  You just never know what a PO may have dropped into the case, stripped what bolts, cut out, etc.

Green is good. Green means go. Better spark but downside is they suck more juice outta the electrical system but thats not necessarily a negative. Just be sure the charging system is working properly and EVERY connection is clean, tight, and greased with dielectric grease. Heavy city driving could create a low voltage issue. If that happens just keep your rpms above 2000 or more by throttle or lower gears. Get a Battery Tender and keep it hooked up. That will have you ready to leave each day and prevent you from buying a new battery every year.

Yep. I got that surprise twice. both on 70 models. Drag racers started that but a lot of people did it. No worries on mine, I'm gonna get or make a kit and bolt them in/out. Easier to work on anyway. pulling that engine for a top end repair is no fun either.

Are these kits still available? Is the tubing a standard size available at say a race car shop? Mine were cut when I got the bike.

 Once welded in, you will not have to remove any pieces to get the top end off.

 Will post more info when it is  ready to sell.

Well, then you'd need a 750A tank, n'est-ce pas?

The tank tunnel would need to be recessed to clear the humps in the secondary rails.

Yes you may have to mod tank a bit or run an A tank.
 Are they  not quite close to a 77/78 K tank?
