WW II. The war helped drive advances in the motorcycle and the aftermath was fertile ground for the bike. Impoverished nations relied on it for transport over costlier autos, and our GI's fueled by know how gained while serving coupled with their high threshhold for excitement gave us bob jobs and cafe racers.
