This is some funny sh!t here.......almost as funny as Cheapo's 155 MPH 550. Now I can tell you that I just got back from New Melones reservoir and caught me a 4 foot long rainbow trout but I think few would believe that (yeah....there would probably be a few!!!).
And Jerry.....bumping my $50 motor up to $200?? Cut me some slack man!!!!....cantcha see I'm working here? Seriously though ....Jerry is dead on right about the amount of $$ that can be invested without any hope of getting it back.And who would want to sell something like that!!!! Just ask Sparty!!!!

Meh, in that case I must be mistaken. I'd put it at 11k and change then. When the needle goes off the end of the tach numbers it kept pulling. Glad you guys get you're jollies ridiculing those who don't know as much about these bikes as you. Some community, eh?

CA,

Irregardless of what's said, it sounds like you have a nice engine. Hang on to it until you can put it to use. We're all about preserving the madness. If it is built you will never get what it's worth or what it would cost you to build it.

Keep in mind that opinions are like #$%*s, everyone has one.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

They've been taking it easy on you. So what if you got caught in a wee bit of an exaggeration?...To be fair, you did ask an open-ended, highly subjective question with little or no hope of a "correct" answer...

Andy, you are exaggerating as well..
look at the 800.00 instrument thread, tach clearly goes to 11K... :o

 I think what OP was saying, is it revs like a demon, and a stocker does not

Geez Frank let it go...ok so I was 0.5K out (I said 10.5K) big deal  ::) ;)

Point taken on revs like a demon - I am sure it did...clearly too much power for the OP since he crashed the bike  ;)

cheers
Andy

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I base my 13k on the factory 12k tach, needle went past 12 the handful of times I would it all the way out.

There were two types of factory tacho 12,000 and 14,000 rpm....so it must be capable of the rev range if they made one like that!

I'm into my engine around $14k so it sounds like a bargain IF it can be proven. Oh and yes I do have a fatory 14k tacho....just in case  ;D
