k0-k5 750 main jet size
« on: March 24, 2009, 10:48:06 AM »
Did any of the K0-K5 CB750s run a 125 main jet? I had the carbs off my K8 the other day, which has carbs off an earlier model, and I looked at the main jets and the have 125 stamped on them. I'm not sure which year bike my carbs are off, but I know it's a later model, because it has the linkage and not the individual cable connectors. The larger jet hasn't been a problem for me because I'm running pods, but the slow jet, which is a #40 on my carbs, is a tad rich for my bike. I'm going to try dropping to a #35, stock for the K8, to see if that helps.
Would the larger jet come off an earlier model, before Honda jetted them leaner to mean emissions?

The richest stock jetting was 120's on the earliest CB750's. Then they went down to 110's, then 105 by the K3.

I thought there were 110s on my '72.  Haven't looked at my '74.

Later years went back up in size a little too.
