Finding NOS Pistons Kits for Sohc's
« on: October 20, 2005, 08:51:20 AM »
Hey,

I am trying to find NOS Pistons for my '75 Honda CB 550 F, and having a hell of a time.  Does anyone know where to get Pistons for a cb550F that are 10 or 20 overbore.  I've tried Wiseco, and I've checked numerous sites but with no luck.  I did however find a Taiwanese Co. Chen Shing that looks like that might have what I'm looking for but don't really want to end up ordering something from someone that doesn't speak any english and then wait 3 months to get the wrong Pistons.  Does anyone have any ideas, info, or know of any dealers that carry Chen Shing Piston Kits?  Thanks...

If it's the same as the Cheng Shin company, they make great cheap tires.

Yep. That's about the only answer I found. I currently have the 500cc overbore kit in my 550cc.
It cost another $180.00 to have the cylinders bored. The bike is running the best it's run since I've had it.
The cylinders has 75 PSI across all four cylinders.

Send this guy email. This is the guy I bought them from.  $120.00 4 piston, ring sets, wrist pins and head gasket.

This is the kit I was talking about in the thread linked above, and that a few of us have installed:

And yes, 75 is low.  170 is spec I think new - after the rebuild I seem to be at 150, but I haven't really checked properly.
