Topic: Swingarm shock cushion question

I've taken apart my swing arm for powder coating but not the 'rear cushion under rubber cush' that the rear shocks connect to. Are these real bushings I need to preserve? Do I remove them for painting. If so how do they come out (and go back in)

Take them out, works with a piece of round bar. New one's costs close to nothing, or push the old one's in with a vise or a bolt thru with nut and big(ger) rings..

Voxonda is right.
Just press them out and reuse if you wish.
I used a couple of sockets and a vise to re & re mine.

if you're getting it powder coated, the powder wont stick to the bushing anyways. throw some tape on there and get it done.

I'd remove then.  When they coated the metal ring around the outer part of the bushing will attach the powder and if you have to change them at a later day you'll mess up the coating.  Just be careful when you push them out to be on the outer ring not the rubber.  The rubber will separate for the ring (did it once  ).

OK I got it guys, thanks. You say these are easy to come by and not expensive. Where can I get them? I checked David Silver already.

I agree, pull em out, but maybe put some tape in the inside of that loop-
   I would think the tolerances would change on that pressed in bushing and you'd mess up the powder coat pushing it in.
