Proper Application of Di-Electric Grease?
« on: October 24, 2005, 09:01:06 AM »
Hi Gang....Now I'm ready to install the upgrades on my 1978 CB550. A friend helped with the Dynatek ignition. I purchased a CB900 set of coils on EBAY for $15. Had them checked...it was found to have a bad cable on #2. Purchased new cables and caps. I also purchased Di-Electric Grease. What is proper way of using the Di-Electric Grease? Inside the caps and connections? Or just around the connections? Packageing does not give clear instructions? Says it helps keep corrosion and water out of system. Thats why I'm asking if it goes inside or outside or both? Thanks, DrMark

I always dab a bit onto whatever end is more open and then snap the connection together, as an example on light bulbs I coat the bayonet then stuff it in the socket.
I farted and made my son cry.

Thanks for the fast responses. I glad for the expertise on this site. Just wish the package was better marked with instructions.
