500/4 Tacho renovation in UK
« on: April 29, 2009, 09:16:08 AM »
Hi
I'm looking for someone reliable in the UK to repair/renovate my tacho. Just replaced the cable with a new inner & outer but the pointer still becomes erratic/inaccurate above approx 5000 rpm. Has anyone used somebody they could recommend or any other suggestions.
Cheers Phil.

There is a guy who advertises regularly in Classic and Motorcycle Mechanics magazine - even got featured about four issues ago. You could try finding him through the Mortons media website or emailing them?

I'm in UK and restore 400f instruments, the 500f is the same size and internally the same. Images of restored ones are on the on the VJMC Kent web site www.vjmc-kent-branch.co.uk under services. I suspect the problem maybe rust flakes for a corroded base that have been attracted to the internal magnet. PM if I can help.
