XL600 Street Tracker
« on: April 30, 2009, 04:39:46 PM »
Here's a blog documenting the build of a Honda XL600 based street tracker. Very cool stuff. Who'll be the one to build a XL600 based cafe?

Would it count if it was a thumper in another frame and then cafe'd? If so I think we should give the nod to Gerhed and get him working on it!

thumpers have a certain magic about them, and gerhed's creation appeals to those of us who like the unusual.

Well, I'm building an XL100-based mini-cafe...  does that count?  It'll be fully cafe styled, just all on a 2/3 scale.   ;D

Ecosse...funny you say that because i was thinking last week since i see alot of XL/XR400/600's they could be made to be like so many SR500 Yamaha's
and i know my way around Hondas better than Yamaha's..would be neat to see an XL/XR Cafe or tracker..now i gotta hunt the web for pix

The original idea for the motorcycle was the single cylinder
4 stroke that Daimler built in 1885.
A mixture of gas and air explodes, pushing a bung
down a tube. The bung is linked to a lever on a shaft,
which turns and makes the rear wheel go around, driving the machine along.
Why have we strayed ?
No need to. Let's return to our roots !

although i'm a quarter german, i also am half scot. on that basis i'd like to think that scotsman mr. dunlop's invention of the pneumatic tire, and the invention of the first true bicycle invented by a scot, created the imputes for the motorcycle.
