Looking for "fork fixes" article ....
« on: February 28, 2006, 10:54:13 AM »
I wasn't sure whether to put this in "Open" or here.  I decided here was okay, since it is about a technical aspect of bikes....

Does anyone have the August 1976 issue of Cycle World?  There is an article on fork fixes in that issue that I would like to see (have).

Just wondering.

I'd be willing to pay something for it, maybe even money.... :)

Thanks a lot Bryan - I appreciate your effort (e)mailing me your "recipe".

I found the issue of Cycle World I was looking for - I found it on ebay.  Not only did I find the issue I wanted, I also got the previous month's (July) issue.  It also has an article on "fork fixes for street bikes".

And just to make it more like Christmas around here, I got both issues for a great price AND the seller was a short ride down the highway from me.  So I picked them up this afternoon.

Yay!

All is good!

Would you consider scanning and posting it on the forum?

I would indeed, and I will as soon as I get some time.  My business has been slow over the winter, but now I'm busy once again (thank goodness).  I'll get it on here somewhere, certainly before the middle of April and hopefully sooner.

What's the best way to post such a thing?  Should I just make small jpeg files, and post them as photos, or is there another place on the SOHC site where it would be easier and more appropriate to post stuff like this article?

Scan them to jpg and send them to Glenn. He will convert to html and post on the site (the main site - not the forums)

Or

post the jpgs in the "Content Submission" forum.

August 1976 issue of Cycle World

Yikes, I can't remember what I read from this morning, let alone a specific article from a specific month of a specific magazine from 30 years ago!
