rear running lights
« on: November 04, 2005, 11:50:27 PM »
I finally got the lights working on my 750 k3, all except the rear running lights. Are there rear running lights on these bikes.
I farted and made my son cry.

I've got a K6, and mine are for turn siginals only.  I think they all are.

Would pay to check with your local authorities as regulations vary.

In Australia they're blinkers only but, corressponding with a bloke from the States, where he is , both front & rear blinkers are running lights too.

To the best of my knowledge NONE of the Hondas had rear running lights they were only blinkers, in fact i believe it is actually illegal to have orange lights showing to the rear

My '75 CB750F (US model - all original) has front running lights only. My guess is that someone modified the wiring and the lighting on the bike you are mentioning.

I concur (being a "bloke for the States"... ;))

The tail light should come on with the lights, and get brighter when either brake is applied. The rear turn signals only blink, nothing else.

The only reason it scares you is that you haven't taken the time to understand it.
It is relatively simple, really!!
You just need to take a little time to learn how to "see" it.
These are simple DC circuits, no complicated electronics on these bikes.

The US DOT mandates that the rear lights can only be Red except for turn signals The idea is simple, with yellow in the front and red in the rear, it gives you a sense of which way the vehicle is travelling. Same idea as Boats, Airplanes, and Trains.. I have toyed with the idea of putting LEDS in the rear for extra lighting.

Yes your right  no running lights on the rear its pretty easy to figure out if you check your bulb its an 1156 single element not 1157  double element altho I did put double element sockets in my 73 750  and wired them to my brakes and  oh I did put red lens on the rear in the past 30 years been hit in the rear twice  both cases not my fault but I WANT TO BE SEEN  good luck with your bike
seven fifty four ever its not the destination its the journey Ive been collecting these old dinasours for 33 years . they are quite an ICON

Nope, same for cars and motorcycles.  Brake/Running lights = Red, Turn signals = Red or Yellow.
