Question about front fork covers K versus F
« on: June 01, 2009, 06:18:11 AM »
I want to replace the front fork covers on my 1978 CB750K. Mine have been damaged by a previous owner, probably when the bike was dumped and the posts that hold the turn signals are welded and ugly.

There are some on eBay that the seller sez are off an F but would do for a K but when I look these up and compare the part numbers, they are different.

Does anybody have any advice about whether front fork covers from an F would fit properly on a K and look original?

Thanks!

Don't know of any "F"'s that have them.

If you are lookin for fork ears, I have some for a 78K that I will sell you - cheap.  Send me a PM.

By the way, the fork ears for the 78F are different.

Steve: When you say you haven't seen any F's that have them, the chrome front fork covers (that's what Honda calls them) fit over the front forks and hold the front turn signals and the headlight bucket on both sides. It would be hard to drive at night without the front fork covers. They are on the parts list of both the F and K, it's just the part numbers are different although they look the same in the illustration. Any idea if they are the same for the F and K?

Thanks

Thought the F had 'wire' headlight ears?

They do, at least on the 750's.  The headlight bucket and all are on a seperate framework not attached to the forks, but to the trees instead.  No covers or ears.

Problem solved I think. I found some for the K, so won't be bidding on the ones from the F.

Thanks for your help and replies.
